Canonical records and sources
A catalog record has a stable source, license, version, HEX value, RGB channels, and localized editorial content. The source shown on a color page supports the name or canonical value; it is not used as decoration.
HEX and RGB are validated as the same 24-bit sRGB value. Stable identifiers and deterministic ordering keep imports auditable.
Calculated values
HSL, HWB, relative luminance, black-and-white contrast, tints, shades, opacity variants, and hue rotations are calculated from the displayed HEX value. Hue relationships are mathematical starting points, not automatic palette recommendations.
Contrast ratios use WCAG relative luminance. Passing a numerical threshold does not replace testing font weight, size, state, surrounding colors, and the complete interface.
Review and discoverability
Localized names and notes move through drafting, review, readiness, and publication. Corrections return to editorial review instead of changing a public record directly.
Publication and indexability are separate decisions. Sitemap inclusion is reserved for reviewed pages with distinct value, while valid non-indexed pages may remain publicly accessible.
